I adore the Japanese baths in Collingwood and the nearby Japanese restaurant Aka Siro!

Nice suggestions Viva smile

Im only there on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so it wont be a lot of time and going as far as Collingwood. So mostly anywhere I can enjoy daytime activities atm. Will shout out when I have a better idea smile

Re: Advice on where to go in Melbourne

Check out the Abbotsford Convent: https://abbotsfordconvent.com.au/visit/eat-and-drink

Definitely check out if there's anything you like on at the Melba Speigeltent, it's a fucking awesome venue & lots of very cool stuff happens there: https://www.circusoz.com/the-spiegelten … melba.html

I'm also a huge fan of Collingwood Childrens Farm, I know I'm not a kiddo but it is sooooo cute & you get to feed baby animals! It's super duper close to the Convent too.

As far as bars go I'm a big fan of The Noble Experiment on Smith St, it's not open Mon/Tues but it is open on a Wednesday.

If you're wanting to possibly stray a bit further up Johnston St into Fitzroy there's also a George Costanza themed bar called George's Bar.

Hope some of these things are up your alley! x

Re: Advice on where to go in Melbourne

Thanks HB smile I'll be sure to check them out. Will be in town from Sunday afternoon till Thursday late morning. It will be a bit random on where I'll go and what I'll do.

I'm a bit of a mixture really, like seeing natural history exhibits, seeing contemporary art works, having  a go at something hands on etc. One thing I`d like to do though is have a look at various filming locations, by that I mean TV and film (does`t have to be IFM), but stuff like The Castle, Chopper, The Craic, etc.

Re: Advice on where to go in Melbourne

You can visit the prison where Chopper spent a lot of his adult life - the video from Sondrine was shot in the exercise yard of D division, where he would have exercised towards the end of his sentence.  It's mostly now a housing development but you can see the walls, they still have guard towers, razor wire etc.  Google Pentridge Prison.  You can get the tram from the city, about 30 mins.  The yard where they buried the bodies of prisoners who were hanged is now an excavated site - you can walk around where they had archeologists dig up the bodies about 5 years ago.  They were returned to their descendants (the last hanging was in 1966 and they were buried in anonymous graves in the grounds).

The only scene from Chopper I can remember the location of was outside Bojangles nightclub, where he shot a guy 'in self defence' late one night, but admitted on his deathbed it was a straight up execution.  But it's been demolished. You can google the location of The Castle house - I think it's in Strathmore, not a salubrious area.  If you have a car, email me for directions to the park where we've shot a bit of stuff, including Selador's recent - you'll find a whole lot of kangas out there.  It's a few mins drive from the airport.

Re: Advice on where to go in Melbourne

To  everyone who gave me advice on where to go or what to do in Melbourne, thanks for that. I have had a good time touring the city, seeing new places, meeting new people. So much to see and do, but so little time. What I wouldn't give to have a day more...

Still, I did the best to make the most of my time over there. And I hope to one day return smile
