Both of these last two photos are full of lovely, but the very best part is the voyeuristic impulse to catalog all the little personal geegaws that my friends Laney and Viva have on their desk/bedside table. The screwdriver/highlighter combo on Laney's is an especial favorite.

monotreme haha i love that kind of thing too! laney I love your little hand weight at your desk are you sitting where I used to sit?

Did you work on flexibility to get that shoulder extension or is it just natural?
It's always been like that, it's caused by having loose ligaments.
I'm so glad you're feeling less pain and finding joy in exercise and your relationship with your body. Exercise is one of my favourite things because when I do it it's one of the only times when I'm not thinking about the future or past, I have moments of just being present in the experience. I love the meditative aspect of yoga and how it encourages you to be less judgmental of yourself, honour where your mind and body are at and do what feels right for you at that time.
There's also something about moving in time and adopting the same body positions as a group which makes me feel a comforting sense of human connection. Like we're all coming from different places, all at different stages in our lives and all trying to make sense of this completely confusing existence but look! We're all in the same shape so right now we have that in common.
I was hoping barre would help with my knees not the opposite! I have one knee that's especially odd. What did you do to fuck up knees there? I want to avoid!! I've been going almost every day in May so far and I really feel different in back and arms. They say if you do the thigh work on tiptoes it protects your knees.
I just didn't pay enough attention to my knee alignment, and did lots of the exercises in this position (which I have naturally because of loose ligaments). So if you watch your knee alignment and make sure that when you bend them they track over your second and third toes hopefully you won't run into any trouble. You're right that being on tiptoes, especially when you are on tiptoes and press your heels together while doing pliés protects your knees by making your hamstrings and butt engage more. Going every day for a month must be intense! I went three days in a row this week and today I'm super sore...

Viva - I am at your desk and adjusted the position of the computer a little.
Monotreme here is a detailed catalogue of my desk geegaws. My favourite is item #16, an art installation I call 'glasses gangbang' in the medium of sunglasses and prescription glasses (Laney 2016).
1. Anatomical drawings of the point under my collarbone where my nerves get compressed, and at my wrist where it causes referred pain. I am aware of these points in my body all the time, so I like being able to look inside them.
2. A black and white polaroid of me at my desk taken by my coworker Sondrine.
3. Some postcards from museums in Amsterdam.
4. Tickets to two camping festivals I went to this year - Rainbow Serpent and Inner Varnika. Rainbow Serpent is an enormous 5 day doof with a hippy/chill vibe, Inner Varnika is a tiny exclusive boutique music wanker festival. Need to remember to buy a suit for next year.
5. A gum bichromate photgraph made by Aven Frey
6. A cactus, bouquet of dried flowers and a broken piece of concrete something which says "made in Australia" on it.
7. Itazura Stealing Cat Money Box
8. A limited edition 'ishotmyself' branded disposable camera, over 10 years old now.
9. A sticker for a club night some guy I was seeing started up... I never went because he invited all of my friends on facebook but not me (so petty of me)... it's not on any more.
10. A Melbourne tram ticket from 2008
11. A ticket for a club I went to in Amsterdam, and a card from the hostel I stayed at
12. A photo of Kanye West wearing a netball skirt that I made for Aven Frey's birthday two years ago, stuck to a bottle I bought as a vase to put flowers in for Richard's birthday three years ago, with a tennis ball on top.
13. Papers and stuff idk
14. Some kind of paper bowl with my wristbands from Inner Varnika and Berlin Atonal festivals, and a tampon
15. Green star glitter
16. "Glasses Gangbang", Laney 2016

Well, that's all magical, but you're right. "Glasses Gangbang" is a wonderful work of art.

Boldly I followed the link.... Did I reach your page? If so yours is a very different form of artwork and frankly I'm amazed by what I see. Art larger than life, I'll hang around there a bit if I may and browse more of your fabulous work. You asked about my online presence, there's not much I'm afraid ...
Oh, no I am so sorry, but that isn't my page...Mine is not yet filled with much of my work yet, but that artist is one of my inspirations!
Yeah TZO2K16, is that your DA page? If so, wow, so detailed and lifelike, but at the same time superhumanly perfect.
I had a look at Yuni as well but since I don't have an account any more I couldn't see any of the 'mature' deviations (which is most of them). But from what I could see I definitely agree, he/she is certainly pushing the limits of portraying bodies in extreme yet almost believable positions.
I don't know if you know (or want to know) this but like the characters in Yuna's art I'm also particularly bendy. Here I am doing a thing with my arm in the feck office right now, I took two photos and couldn't decide which was better so why not post both...

I can still do right leg splits and centre splits pretty much any time without warming up. I put it down to genetics and doing calisthenics (an Australian dance sport like rhythmic gymnastics) for 8 years.
Cool! Love the contort pics (It's great to know btw) speaking of which, I'm inspired to do some rendering of some of Yuni's style into my work as sort of a dedication! I wasn't sure if I could've posted the yuni link as it's not the most conventional of artwork, but it seems that it's not such an issue after all!

We love unconventional artwork here ^_^. Post away!
I'm looking forward to seeing an exhibition by German photographer Sven Marquardt on the weekend. He shoots mostly black and white gothic/fetish portraits, with elements of horror, fantasy and diverse gender expression.

I found this on facebook, kind of sexy kind of scary. I really liked the quote though.
"When sex becomes a production or performance, that is when it loses its value. Be mutual. Be loud. Be clumsy. Make noises, be quiet, and make a mess. Bite, scratch, push, pull, hold, thrust. Remove pressure from the moment. Love the moment. Embrace it. Enjoy your body; enjoy your partner's body. Produce sweat, be natural, entice your senses, give into pleasure. Bump heads, miss when you kiss, laugh when it happens. Speak words, speak with your body, speak to their soul. Touch their skin, kiss their goosebumps and play with their hair. Scream, beg, whimper, sigh, let your toes curl, lose yourself. Chase your breath; keep the lights on, watch their eyes when they explode. Forget worrying about extra skin, sizes of parts and things that are meaningless. Save the expectations, take each second as it comes. Smear your make up, mess up your hair, rid your masculinity, and lose your ego. Detonate together, collapse together, and melt into each other."

I love line drawings and sketches, as it's the barest and most pure form of expression from the artist!
Oftentimes I would try and duplicate my first impulsive sketch, but could never duplicate it, no matter how many times I try to recreate it, something is always lost...And I too love that quote as well, because to have someone show me at their clumsiest, is the very moment that I gain my greatest trust for them!
Oh, and Laney thanks a lot for that link, his work is very compelling to me, lately I have been drawn (Lol, Punny!) to stark moody and somewhat creepy photos as of late, though I was always in love with highly contrasted Chiaroscuro in video, drawings and photography!

I'm so glad to have found this thread ! Here's a really pretty photo I found this week. This one I imagine to be the kitchen, above the sink, perhaps after a real steamy fuck. I love how the condesation turns everything into a dreamy blur, like a painting.

I love this photo Sondrine, to me its a mirror, the frame tired, bravely holding the projected cinema of bright beauty and in equal measure the steam of clouded thoughts ...
