What's the worst advice you have ever taken?

"Process work is good money, get a job there."

Dont ever believe it!
It will fuck you up!
I am never, ever going back to that. Ever.

Have you ever been backpacking?

As they seem to be making such a mess of independence (USA included) shouldn't Britain just take back all the former colonies (by force if necessary) wouldn't this create a lot more much needed stability in the world?

Re: The question game

Yes, well Commodore Frank Bainamarama has just done this in Fiji (all in the name of stability and ridding the land of corruption) and not a drop of blood was split.  He is the most contemorary example of taking things back by force, so he should be able to help here.  I'm sorry, but I can't give you his address Blissed - somewhere in Fiji - or you could just send your request to his doctor who he has just appointed as the new Prime Minister of Fiji.  Or the "new ruler" c/- Suva post office is sure to find him.  Just a suggestion.  And oh by the way I don't think too many Aussies or Kiwis will want to rejoin the great new british empire voluntarily, but they may succumb to a bit of cleverly applied coersion such as several billion pounds each year of aid.

Ok, I'll agree to that.
Australia could do with a few more countries to mop the floor with in the Commonwealth Games.

Midgets are scared of heights and can't swim, so they're no good for the air force or navy.  Just ask King Lear's daughters, by the way what were their names?

The birth of Ludwig van Beethoven in 1770, on account'a, well, because.

Who is the most impertinent historical figure you can think of, and what would/(would have) make he/she/it less impertinent?

Re: The question game

How could it be anyone but W.?  Humility and knowledge should do it- probably won't, but should.

Gotta go back to Joplin/Waits.  Not enough Janis to allow me to pick her- she could have been modern day Bessie Smith, but the self-indulgence says she could also have been Courtney Love (and I am not saying Love is untalented, just self-centered and undisciplined).  Now Waits, well go check out Orphans.  This is three disks of stuff that didn't make the cut, or was a one shot, or whatever, and this is some fantastic stuff.  If you don't know him, it's probably not the place to start, but it does give an idea of his range.

Can we develop true friendships here, or are we doomed to be superficial?

Any character that Tom Cruise has played, due to his almost supernatural ability to turn any role into cardboard.

When was the last time you watched a sunrise, where were you and why?  (okay, I know, three questions there)

My boss

Working in retail is cool, you get a free uniform and a free name badge and you get to meet lots of people, it's a job that only a select few are capable of tho, people with drive, tenacity, sagacity and lots of other things you wouldn't really think you would need. So you can pick up an application form but before you fill it in you have to ask yourself this. Have i really got it in me to be part of an exciting team of people who are customer obsessed, Can I give my whole heart and soul, can I give my life to retail!!?

Re: The question game

So where's the question blissed? Since you neglected to ask one I'll answer one from earlier:

jwhite wrote:

Over the months I have forged several friendships with other subscribers which go beyond this forum.  I treasure all of them.

If you could perform one temporary act of kindness to any one individual what would it be.  (Like restoring Beethoven's hearing for 30 minutes so that he could hear the final movement of his  choral symphony ).  This act must not be designed to change the course of history.

That is the question Elf or put very simply

Can you give your life to retail? you know you want to :-) If you did, I have a feeling that it wouldn't change the course of history at all smile It didn't with me.

Re: The question game

Whatever you happen to be wearing today darling.

A friend confides to you that he has committed a particular crime and you promise never to tell. You later discover that an innocent person has been accused of the crime. You plead with your friend to give himself up. He refuses and reminds you of your promise. What would you do?

Re: The question game

Depends on how serious the crime was and what sort of freind they are. so basically C is for crime, S is for seriousness, F is for freind and L is for love
So,
C x S = X / F x L = Y / X divided by Y = the answer, but it depends on whether you wanna go to the square root or involve any sort of pies.

You'd need something to cool down with after trying to reincarnate Pythagarus, which brings me to my question.

Do you believe in reincarnation?
